Retirement / Pensions

We have been contacted by a small number of retired colleagues who have experienced problems with the delayed receipt of their pension upon their retirement.

In conversation they have offered us this one piece of advice which they suggest be given to any officer thinking of retiring, which in their view and in their experience will help to avoid any problems,  “once you’ve decided when you want to retire, give as much notice to the line manager and HR as possible (minimum of 3 months).”

This said we do understand that the problems previously experienced with my Civil Service pensions have improved.
