Dear Members

I am writing to you to advise that the Police Chiefs’ Council has decided against moving forward with a vote regarding the introduction of compulsory severance for Officers at this time.

However, they have reserved the right to reconsider the decision, dependent upon the outcome of the Spending Review, which is due to be published later in the year.

We will keep you informed, as and when there are any further developments,
