The Home Secretary has warned that President Trump's travel ban risks becoming a “propaganda opportunity” for Islamic State.
Amber Rudd told a Commons committee: “The sources of terrorism are not to be found in the sources where the president is necessarily looking for them.”
She added: “I think the important thing is for this Government to state that we disagree with the ban and we have said that it is divisive, it is wrong. I will continue to say that.”
Her comments came as it was confirmed that MPs will debate a petition that calls for Donald Trump's state visit to Britain to be downgraded.
