An Act Of Charity

I recently received a letter from a member who had, through an injury on duty, found themselves off work and on nil pay.  The Federation had given them financial support during this period in an attempt to help and remove some of the pressure the member was facing.

They are now back at work, but were so grateful for the assistance that they wrote to us, thanking us for our assistance and, due to the fact that the grant was not required to be repaid, made a donation to Help for Hero’s for an amount equal to that given to them during their time of need.

I have published this account as I felt this was a brilliant example of the character of our members and the officers of the Ministry of Defence Police and wanted to ensure as many colleagues knew of this act as possible.

There are many in our society that would think badly of our service, but this demonstrates the generous and caring side of the police family.
