Annual General Meeting 2005

The Annual General Meeting and Reunion 2006 took place at the Bridgewood Manor Hotel, Walderslade Woods, near Chatham, Kent over the weekend 13th to 16th October. A total of 94 members and guests attended including DPF National Chairman, Eamon Keating and Patron of the Association, Jack Aspinall, QPM, FCMI.

The AGM was fully attended and several members who reside locally attended both the meeting and Reunion dinner in the evening. At the AGM Officers of the ROA Committee gave reports on the work of the Association undertaken throughout the year and about its progress to ensuring the aims of the ROA - 'dedicated to promoting and sustaining friendship amongst members and being able to offer assistance and advice if and when required' - were being met.

The AGM was followed by an interesting, well constructed and, at times, humorous presentation of the current work of the MDP ably given by Supt Paul McLaughlin and his charming wife Karen who acted as his 'technical assistant'. The humour was contained in a short film made by a Graduation Class at the Training School, that everyone enjoyed.

Members and guests attended the Reunion Dinner. President of the Association, Chief Constable Mr Stephen Love, MA, FsyI, gave an after dinner speech that included a summary of events that had occurred in the Force during the previous 12 months since last attending the ROA Reunion.

The venue for next years AGM and Reunion is in the process of being finalised and details along with a Booking Form will be circulated shortly. The dates however have been agreed. Friday 12th October to Monday 15th October 2007.
