DPF Annual Travel & Critical Illness Insurance Scheme
National Officers have secured a deal with our present supplier Stuart Harvey Insurance Brokers for sub-scription costs to be frozen for the next twelve months.
This was achieved without any detriment to the cover offered, in fact Critical Illness cover will be improved by a further £1,000 cover. (Effective from 1st July 2004.)
One problem has been brought to our attention by the supplier, that being members opting in and out of the scheme. This is not in the spirit of the product’s annual basis and puts a strain on negotiations to keep subscriptions low. It has therefore been agreed with the National Executive Committee to adopt the following rule:-
‘Members who have previously subscribed but opted out of the DPF Annual Accident, Travel & Critical Illness Insurance Scheme and wish to rejoin, will only be allowed to do so by paying twelve months subscription in advance with deductions from salary commencing when that twelve month period ends.’
Members are also reminded to report all claims for accidents, travel problems and any diagnosis of Critical Illness, as soon as possible after the event.
