OBITUARY NOTICE
Normally bad news travels fast but on this occasion for some inexplicable reason we have only just learned of the death of Ken Vinnicombe a past DPF National Chairman. Ken was Chairman from 1973 - 1976 and played a key role in forming the Federation during the amalgamation of the departmental constabularies in those early years.
Ken served at several stations during his long career including Wroughton, Cold Blow Lane and Thatcham. At the time of his retirement from the Force in September 1985 he was Sergeant SPO at RAF Locking. He died following a short illness aged 76 years.
Former member of the Management Committee Ted Jones has died aged 63. Ted, who joined the Army Departmental Constabulary in August 1970, was for many years an active Federation representative within Central Region. He retired from the Force in 1994 suffering from ill health.
