Obituary
Former Chief Constable John Reddington CBE CSEJ QPM died on 5 March 2000 following a long and brave fight against cancer. Mr Reddington, aged 67yrs retired from the Force in December 1994 having spent 40 years as a police officer. He is survived by his wife, Sylvia, and his three children.
Mr Reddington’s funeral service was held at St. Nicholas Church in the village of Tackley, Oxfordshire on Friday, 10 March. The service was well attended by family, friends, and past colleagues connected to the police and the Order of St. John.
