General Secretary’s visit to Kosovo
During the period 4th/6th July 2003 David King accompanied ACC P&T and team members from the overseas Deployment Office on a visit to Kosovo.
The visit included attending a contingent meeting chaired by Supt Tom Sloman followed by meeting officers on locations in Gnjilane, Prizren and Pristina.
The Ministry of Defence Police have approximately 70 officers serving with the UN Mission in Kosovo.
In addition to these officers there are some 20 retired Home Department Police Officers attached to the MDP contingent.
MDP Officers are currently involved in a variety of jobs which include holding some senior positions within the mission.
It is obvious that all officers are dedicated to their role within the UN and totally committed to making a difference to the communities they serve in Kosovo.
