DPF Briefing
July 2001
Q Q R Latest
Team leader Mark Preston has briefed the National Officers on the emerging conclusions from stage one of the current review.
At the time of writing matters have yet to be discussed in detail by the Police Committee, Agency Management Board and 2nd PUS.
Although unable to give precise details at this stage, we can report that the Team have endorsed MDP’s main outputs in Armed Security, Uniformed Policing and Investigation of serious crime.
There is therefore a continuing need for MDP, however some detailed issues need to be worked through and it would be premature to comment further at this time.
All sides are agreed that the QQR has a number of significant issues to address and it would not be right to constrain the QQR timetable until all those matters are fully resolved. It is therefore likely that the full QQR process (including stage 2 work) will last beyond the Autumn.
