DPF Briefing
December 2004
XMAS MESSAGE TO ALL DPF MEMBERS
Well that’s another year over, nearly… And what a year it has been. From my point of view, an exciting, challenging and educational year and from the DPF point of view a busy one. We have, regrettably, lost five members over the past year, and our thoughts are with their loved ones at this time. Several issues have been brought to the table, including Z days, tax issues, pensions. We’re losing a Chief and an Under Secretary of State, but we have also gained. Several new sites have opened to us this year and there are more to follow. Overseas deployments have excelled, yet again, and our commitment to the FCO has increased. We now train all of the police officers deployed overseas.
The next year will be a difficult one, however as a united team I am sure that we will achieve all of our objectives. Remember, you run the Federation, your opinions count. So keep us informed, keep doing the good work and please, from all of us on the National Executive Committee and at headquarters, have a very merry Xmas and a prosperous new year.
