Judicial Review - Pay Award 2007
The Police Federation of England and Wales (PFEW) are currently pursuing a Judicial Review into the Police Pay Award for 2007. As you may know, the Police Arbitration Tribunal recommendation was that the pay award of 2.5% be implemented wef 01/09/07. Whilst the Scottish government honoured this, the UK government did not - identifying 01/12/07 as the start date - thus disadvantaging those Officers serving in the remainder of the UK.
The Secretary of State for Defence has decreed that MDP follow the Home Office model on pay therefore this will be 2.5% backdated to 01/12/07. The Judicial Review will not affect the implementation of this although our acceptance of the award is caveated that should PFEW be successful then we will revisit this issue.
