Circular 39.14

Special Leave in respect of Antenatal Appointments for Partners

Members should be aware that the MoD has been looking to introduce a policy to allow Employees to take Special Leave, in order to accompany pregnant partners at Antenatal appointments.  From 1st October 2014, an expectant Mother has a statutory right to take her Spouse, or Partner, to attend up-to two Antenatal Appointments.

This change in policy applies equally to employees of the Ministry of Defence Police, as per the wider MoD, with effect from 1st October 2014.
