Circular 39/17

This circular is to inform the membership where we currently are with regards to the pay rise. As you are all aware, the government after negotiation with the Pay Remuneration Board have stated that Police pay will rise.

The agreed pay rise will consist of a 1% increase in base pay to all ranks, with an additional one-off non-consolidated payment of 1% to officers at federated and superintendent ranks.

It has also been identified that there will be a further 1% increase in both London Weighting payments and Dog Handlers Allowance.

While this has been agreed, the procedure is that for the relevant department to action the pay award, the Home Office supplies a circular detailing the award as agreed. As of yet the Home Office have not produced the circular of agreement. Both ourselves (DPF) and Police Federation of England and Wales (PFEW) are currently awaiting this.

To pre-empt this, the DPF have written to the Department (MoD) and requested that they agree in principle to the pay award, thereby on receipt of the Home Office circular, the necessary implementation can be actioned without delay.

As soon as more information is available the DPF will up date.
