Circular 03/17

The DPF have now reached an agreement with the Force on how this will progress and how to minimise, if not totally remove the possibility of leapfrogging, during the pay freeze process.

All officers included in this process (those who joined the MDP prior to April 2012 and are still on incremental pay) will be affected by the freeze, however in order to reduce the impact all officers incremental date will be adjusted to 1 April 2018 and on that date, on exit from the freeze they will progress to the next available pay point.

This reduces the impact of the freeze, by allowing officers to gain reckonable pay during the freeze, rather than waiting to obtain 12 months reckonable pay outside of the freeze, as occurred in the Home Department forces.

The Force will be writing to each affected officer individually, in due course, to identify to them their new pay level, as of 1 April 2018.

The details of the incremental changes will be published shortly, by Force Order.
