The Government has announced the latest pay awards for all public sector workers, which includes police officers.

The agreed increase for Police, as stated on the Home Office website is as follows:

Police officers will be awarded a pay rise of 2.5% in 2019-20.

The increase will consist of:

  • a 2.5% pay increase for all police officer ranks
  • a 2.5% increase to the London weighting payment
  • a 2.5% increase to the dog handlers’ allowance

There has been no change to the apprentice and degree holder progression, which means those joining the service will continue to receive incremental pay rises through their probationary period.

As a result, and in line with our long-standing parity agreement, The DPF have written to the Department seeking confirmation that the MoD will implement the increase to Ministry of Defence Police salaries, in full, and in line with other Home Office Forces.
