Circular 39/16

I am writing to you in my capacity as the General Secretary of the Defence Police Federation (DPF) and with regards to the 2016 pay award for officers of the Ministry of Defence Police (MDP).

I understand that the recommendation of the Police Remuneration Review Body (PRRB) and the Senior Salaries Review Body (SSRB) have been accepted by the Home Secretary in full.

The details are stated on the governments website:

https://www.gov.uk/government/news/police-officers-2016-pay-award.

This amounts to an increase of salary of 1% for the federated ranks with effect from 01 September 2016, and similar increases in allowances that are applicable to MDP.

Consequently the DPF seek the same agreement in order to maintain parity on pay.

It is hoped that the Department is in a position to expedite the process and we look forward to confirmation of the implementation date.

Peter Clout

General Secretary
