Becoming a Member
Membership of the Federation is not automatic, as is the case with the Home Department's Police Federations. Officers must apply to join and at present the subscription is £13.84p per month. By far the majority of Ministry of Defence Police officers choose to become Federation members.
In return for their subscriptions, DPF members receive many services and a wide range of benefits. This can be anything from negotiating pay settlements with the MoD, helping to resolve individual members' problems arising from their employment or taking advantage of travel insurance at a discounted rate.
The Federation also undertakes to inform its members of any developments which might affect them, through circulars and periodical newsletters. The Federation's "Annual Report" summarises the year's events. DPF officials are always ready and willing to answer members' queries.
