Becoming a Member
Membership of the Federation is not automatic, as is the case with the Home Department's Police Federations. Officers must apply to join. At present the subscription is
£12.00 per month. By far the majority of Ministry of Defence Police Officers choose to become Federation members.
In return for their subscriptions, DPF members receive many services and a wide range of benefits. This can be anything from negotiating a pay settlement with the MoD, resolving individual members' problems over claims for allowances or taking advantage of travel insurance at a discounted rate.
The Federation also undertakes to inform members of any developments which might affect them, through circulars and periodical newsletters. The Federation's "Annual Report" summarises the year's events. DPF officials are always ready and willing to answer members' queries.
